ROBBERY

Robbery is the act of taking someone’s personal property either by the use of force or by the threat of imminent use of force against them or any other person. Robbery is a felony offense with varying degrees and penalties.

First Degree Aggravated Robbery

First degree aggravated robbery occurs if you either were armed with a dangerous weapon, used any item in a manner the lead the victim to reasonably believe you had a dangerous weapon, or if you inflicted bodily harm on another person in order to take someone else’s personal property. If you have been charged with first degree aggravated robbery, the penalties include up to 20 years in prison and/or a $35,000 fine.

Second Degree Aggravated Robbery

Second degree aggravated robber occurs if you implied either by word or by action that you possessed a dangerous weapon in order to take someone else’s personal property. If you have been charged with second degree aggravated robbery, the penalties include up to 15 years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine.

Simple Robbery

Simple robber occurs if you either used for or threatened the imminent use of force in order to take someone else’s personal property. If you have been charged with simple robbery, the penalties include up to 10 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine.
